When you are a star in Hollywood, working on a hugely successful television series, you find that the majority of your time is taken up by commitments to this series, leaving you with very little time to enjoy your life. That certainly seems like it was the case for the beautiful and talented actress Blake Lively, who played Serena Van Der Woodsen in the hit The CW series Gossip Girl.
Blake Lively played Serena Van Der Woodsen for 121 episodes between 2007 and 2012, when the series finally came to an end. Since the show came to an end, Blake has found herself with a lot more free time on her hands and she has admitted that she has really been enjoying her personal life since the end of Gossip Girl.
Lively was being interviewed by Elle magazine when she told them, "Having a personal life has been really nice. I’d been on Gossip Girl 10 months a year for six years, shooting 15-hour days, so I hadn’t had time to just be since I graduated from high school. It’s been nice to kind of settle into my own skin and work on things I really love."
As for her acting career, Blake Lively can next be seen on the big screen, starring in the movie Age of Adaline, which also stars the likes of Harrison Ford, Amanda Crew, Michiel Huisman, Ellen Burstyn, Mark Ghanimé, Richard Harmon and Kathy Baker. Age of Adaline is directed by Lee Toland Kreiger, based on the screenplay developed by J. Mills Goodloe and Salvador Paskowitz, with a release date expected in 2015.
