The first trailer for the Bling Ring has been released, chronicling the real life events of the group of teenagers who stole from celebrities' homes over a span of a year. The trailer prominently features Emma Watson, understandable considering that she is the best known face out of the group. We can also make out glimpses of Taissa Farmiga [the sister of Vera Farmiga], who plays one of the members of the 'Bling Ring'.
Emma Watson's character is based on Alexis Neiers, who was the ringleader of the group. We're definitely seeing a different side to Watson than we have ever seen before and although she certainly rebelled against her good girl image in 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower', it was nothing compared to this.
According to the brief official synopsis of the film, "Inspired by actual events, a group of fame-obsessed teenagers use the Internet to track celebrities' whereabouts in order to rob their homes."
Two images released in Entertainment Weekly also feature the film - one still features Watson in character, and the other shows the film's female cast with its director, Sofia Coppola. The film currently has distribution and will be in limited release on June 14th in the US.
