Bloc Party reunite for new album

Bloc Party are finally getting back together to work on some new material, although the band have no intention to perform until around September time. They have been on a 2 year break and rumours of a reunion started to surface after a christmas photo of the band appeared and those rumours increased when Russell Lissack left Ash in march.

Since the break all of the band members have released side projects apart from drummer Matt Tong. Russell Lissack released Pin Me Down, bassist Gordon Moakes released Young Legionnaire and singer Kele Okereke released The Boxer.

Lissack has since confirmed the rumours in a recent interview with NME magazine. He said "We're having a bit of a break until the festivals are over, because people have commitments during the summer, but we're going to get back properly in September and sit in a rehearsal studio to work on new band material." adding "Kele and I started working on Bloc Party stuff"
