Bradley Cooper has admitted that he is pleasantly surprised by the attention that Silver Linings Playbook is getting around the awards season. Bradley is nominated in the Best Actor (Musical or Comedy) category and the film itself is nominated for Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy).
Cooper dropped in on Today on Thursday (December 13) to say, “It's a small film and it's a word-of-mouth movie. The fact that it's getting this kind of attention [means] hopefully more people will go see it.”
He added, “We loved doing it. We care so much about the film and it's amazing to be recognised. And then on a personal level, it's just surreal… I grew up as the nerd who would wake up to watch the [Golden Globe] announcements. To hear [presenter and Hangover co-star] Ed Helms say Silver Linings Playbook was just incredible.”
It is unlikely that Bradley Cooper will win the award, as he is in a very tough category, which includes, Bernie's Jack Black, Hugh Jackman of Les Misérables, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen actor Ewan McGregor and Bill Murray for Hyde Park on Hudson.
