While the fourth instalment of the Indiana Jones franchise, which was titled Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, was considered by many to be a huge flop and ruin the legacy of the original Indiana Jones movies, the film still went of to gross $783m worldwide. This led many to suggest that we would still get another Indiana Jones movie and it looks like they may well be right.

The aging Indiana Jones
There has been a lot of talk about a new Indiana Jones film being made and, while it has been claimed that Harrison Ford could yet return to reprise one of his biggest ever roles, it has also been suggested that the studio will not wait around forever for him to agree to do Indiana Jones 5. Instead, it has now been rumoured that Harrison Ford could now be replaced as Indiana Jones by a younger actor.
The reports claim that the studio are now looking to follow in the footsteps of the James Bond franchise, by keeping the Indiana Jones movies fresh with a new actor being cast every so many years. The plan is said to be that a new Indiana Jones will be cast to replace Harrison Ford and will stay on for a new Indiana Jones trilogy before then handing the torch to another new actor.

Bradley Cooper has been linked to the role
As for who will replace Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, it has been claimed that Bradley Cooper is the favourite to land the role, although nothing solid has yet been confirmed. Meanwhile, it has also been claimed that Frank Darabont is pitching his idea for an Indiana Jones movie to the studio, with the view to penning the new film.
