Bradley Cooper agrees with the hundreds of Ryan Gosling fans that picketed People Magazine’s choice to name him the Sexiest Man Alive, instead of Gosling whom many considered to the frontrunner for 2011.

Earned himself a sexiest man in the world tag
Now, in an interview with Nightline, Cooper opens up about his title [which will soon end as rumor has it that Channing Tatum is about to be crowned the new SMA next week], and says, “I remember when I got the call, I was in the trailer we were in between shots. I really did think it was a joke… I thought Dax Shepard did it. I was certain. They were like ‘No, it’s real’ and I thought ‘people aren’t going to like that.’ I thought ‘this isn’t a good thing. I said ‘Do I have to do it? Can I say no?’ They’re like ‘yeah, you could, but be thankful.”
He adds that being picketed by Ryan Gosling fans was not fun, saying, “It was brutal [laughs] and yeah there was some cheer they made, and oh my God.”

Playing a role in hangover raised his profile
Cooper is currently in the midst of promotion for the ‘Silver Linings Playbook’, which is set to go into limited release next week and release wide at the end of November. It’s considered one of the frontrunners for the Best Picture Oscar and co-stars Jennifer Lawrence, Robert DeNiro, and Chris Tucker.
