American golfer Brandt Snedeker has had a somewhat mixed year in 2013, as he got off to such a good start, before suffering an injury and having to build himself back up again. Now though, Brandt has fully recovered from his injury and insists that he is back to his best, believing that he has a chance to challenge at The PGA Championship this week.
Snedeker told AL.com, "It's a great feeling. Obviously majors are what your career is defined by. Everyone wants to win majors, including myself. I probably could have won a major this year - I've had a couple of chances where if I could play well on the weekend I might be able to do something - but being close is not quite there. My game is good enough now that if I can play four good rounds and play my best I could put myself in that situation (to win)."
He added, "I'm excited about Oak Hill. It's a great course and it fits me really, really well. I feel like with my game, my confidence and my attitude I can handle the pressure of majors now and I'm excited to see what the next couple of years hold for me. Hopefully I can win one and win one pretty soon."
While Brandt Snedeker is clearly confident of making an impression at Oak Hill, for the last major of the year, there will be stiff competition from a number of players, not least Tiger Woods. Coming into The PGA Championship, Tiger Woods is the favourite, as he looks to add to his 14 majors and stop his drought of recent years.
