Although Brendan Fraser is an A-list actor known for making blockbusters such as the ‘Mummy’, ‘Mummy Returns’ and ‘George of the Jungle’, he is reportedly struggling to make his payments.
The Post reports that Fraser has gone to try to reduce his $900,000 alimony payments to his ex-wife, who he met through Winona Ryder. He is said to be asking for a reduction because he can no longer pay the money, mostly due to his annual income being drastically reduced.
Fraser’s reasoning was that he would be making no money through the next couple of years because of having no set movie deals at the time. Although he recently wrapped ‘Gimme Shelter’ and ‘Split Decision’, Fraser is saying that there are certain ‘health concerns’ that are preventing him from working as much as he used to.
Fraser’s alimony payments are said to be paying for his ex-wife’s expenses as well as his three young sons. However, despite his plea for the reduction of the payments, his ex-wife is reportedly ‘not buying’ his explanation and claiming that he was trying to hide $9 million in film contracts when their divorce was initially settled. Fraser is set to report to a Superior Court for a more detailed court proceeding in a month’s time, so we should know more by then.
