Britney Spears' raunchy Femme Fatale tour hits Birmingham on October 30 but staff at the LG Arena fear empty seats. A ticket seller said: “It’s probably about half-full. There’s good availability.”
There are around 500 tickets left for standing, and 11 whole seat blocks have remaining space, despite a huge slash to the original price of £55, offering fans a ticket for just £30 on sites such as Groupon.
The 29-year-old’s Birmingham show is one of eight UK dates, which were all expected to sell out. Rolling Stone said it was “her flashiest yet”. After a turbulent few years for the star, including a meltdown and rehab, Britney hoped the tour would cement her return to pop’s A-list.
Promoter Live Nation said: “Offering a deal on Groupon is not a reflection of the quality or status or sales of a show.”
