There was some very disappointing news surround the X-Men movie universe this week, when it was claimed that Channing Tatum was quitting as Gambit, before he has even really begun working on the character. Fortunately though, not all is bad with the X-Men franchise, as there has been a lot of exciting news about the new movie X-Men: Apocalypse.
Director Bryan Singer has already had a fair amount to say about X-Men: Apocalypse in recent weeks and he has now been teasing a little bit more about what we can expect from the movie. In particular, Bryan has revealed a few more details about a few of the characters who will appear in the film.
Singer was speaking about the titular villain Apocalypse, when he explained, "He'll be very similar to images in the comic. There's obviously something very futuristic and yet ancient to the design of both his costume and his physicality."
He then went on to talk about Quicksilver, adding, "You can't have him run around a kitchen in the Pentagon again. But I can incorporate him into the movie in a much more appropriate and integral way."
As for Magneto, he continued, "Magneto is a guy that plays both side. It depends on the day of the week. When we first meet him here, he's hung up his cape and he's fallen in love and had a family. His motives are in some ways justifiable, it's just his methods that are questionable."
We have high hopes for X-Men: Apocalypse but we still have quite some time to wait, with the movie not due to hit the big screen until May 19, 2016 in the UK and May 27, 2016 in the US. We cannot wait!
