Since the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become so huge and successful, it seems that everybody else is trying to follow the blueprint for their success, by coming up with their own cinematic universe. While Warner Bros. and DC are doing their thing, Fox are trying to bring together their own cinematic universe with the Marvel characters they currently own.
The X-Men universe has been coming along nicely, with a number of new characters being introduced with every new film, while we will get the new Fantastic Four reboot later in the year. Now, it has been claimed that Fox are looking ahead towards a Fantastic Four and X-Men crossover movie and are looking to get the right man on board to led them there.
Josh Trank is the man responsible for bringing us the Fantastic Four reboot but it has been reported that Fox are not crazy about his movie and would love to get Bryan Singer on board to direct Fantastic Four 2, before then going on to helm the X-Men and Fantastic Four crossover movie. Apparently Fox feel that the new Fantastic Four reboot is a decent introduction but want Bryan Singer to take things to the next level.
The Fantastic Four reboot will open on August 6 in the UK and August 7 in the US. Meanwhile, the plan is to release Fantastic Four 2, before then bringing us the Fantastic Four and X-Men crossover some time in 2018. It certainly sounds very interesting and we look forward to following its progress.
