Chelsea’s £50m Spanish striker Fernando Torres has been regularly criticised since joining the club in 2011, as his form has certainly not warranted the price tag. However, Torres was at his best at Liverpool, while playing for manager Rafa Benitez.
Rafa Benitez has now been placed in charge of Chelsea until the end of the season and there has been talk of him helping Fernando Torres re-find that form that made him one of the best strikers in the world. Rafa has even claimed that he believes he can get the best out of Torres.
Fernando Torres was signed for Liverpool by Rafa Benitez in 2007 and the striker managed to notch up an impressive 81 goals in 142 appearances before heading to Chelsea. Unfortunately for Chelsea fans, Torres has only managed to score 19 goals for them and has missed a number of sitters.
It could be said that Fernando Torres has become a bit of a laughing stock since joining Chelsea, so the arrival of Rafa Benitez should please the striker. Chelsea fans are clearly not happy with the arrival of Benitez but if he can get Fernando Torres back to his best, they could soon change their opinions of him.
Do you think Fernando Torres can re-find his form?
