Can the Oklahoma City Thunder finally compete with the Miami Heat this season? For several years now the team has been one of the top ones in the NBA? The last two seasons, however, have seen the Miami Heat and LeBron James take home the trophy. Some have wondered why a team with such stars as Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka has not won it all.

The team has faced stiff competition, however, from the Memphis Grizzlies, San Antonio Spurs and especially, the Heat. Some believe the team will come out this year firing on all cylinders and won't stop until it wins it all. Head coach Scott Brooks has led the team in four of the five years he has been a head coach. Russell Westbrook has returned, after missing most of the playoffs last year with an injury. Could he bring the spark the team needs to win it all? Will Brooks let Westbrook have as many minutes as he normally would? Some would not be surprised to see the team lifting a banner after winning it all this year. The team has not won a championship after it left Seattle.
In 2011 the team won 55 games and reached the Western Conference finals before losing to Dallas. It became the second youngest team to make it that far. Last season, it had a record of 60-22, two games ahead of Dallas and three ahead of Denver in the Western Conference.
