Actors and actresses these days do not like to rest on their laurels and, while they are in between movie roles, they tend to mix things up about by appearing in television shows or by performing on the stage. Some of the world's top stars can be see on the West End these days, appearing in some fantastic productions along the way.
They latest Hollywood stars that we can see on the West End are Carey Mulligan and Bill Nighy, who will star together in the upcoming production of Skylight. While Bill is a veteran of the West End, it is the West End debut for Carey, although she has appeared on the stage on many occasions in the past.
Skylight is described as: "The drama is set on a bitterly cold London evening when schoolteacher Kyra Hollis (Mulligan) receives an unexpected visit from her former lover, Tom Sergeant (Nighy), a successful and charismatic restaurateur whose wife has recently died. As the evening progresses, the two attempt to rekindle their once passionate relationship, but find themselves locked in a dangerous battle of opposing ideologies and mutual desires."
As well as starring Carey Mulligan and Bill Nighy, Skylight will also star Matthew Beard, while Stephen Daldry will take on the directing duties for the production. Skylight will be showing at the Wyndham's Theatre, opening on June 18 and running until August 23, with previews from June 6.
