Carly Rae Jepsen can now cross off one of the things on her bucket list. In a recent interview she disclosed that one of her life goals was to be part of a Broadway play and she has accomplished this goal as for the past several months she has played the role of Cinderella in the Broadway play "Cinderella". To achieve the goal she had to succeed in not one but two auditions. The first audition took place in Los Angeles and the second was a callback that took place in New York City.
She described the experience of playing "Cinderella" on Broadway, the mecca of the theater world as "Inspiring, humbling and unforgettable' as it provided her an amazing learning experience as an entertainer.
The role forced her to operate outside of her comfort zone and learn new skills such as performing the exact same show every night but in the process learning to look for new ways to make the performance stronger every day. As a lead singer she can literally change the schedule of songs at her whim but not so as a member of a Broadway play.
The talented singer became a stronger vocalist as she had to perform on a nightly basis 17 different numbers which was a challenge as was developing the stamina and endurance to wear play the role of Cinderella which she did masterfully.
She leaves the show on a high note having gained much from the experience and in good hands as she will be replaced by Paige Faure while she returns to the music studio to work on a new album.
The award winning singer has already written several songs and she and her band mates are itching to return to the road to tour once their album is complete but she admits that she has become an addict of acting thanks to Broadway and plans on returning one day.
The Broadway stint of Carly Rae Jepsen has made her a better performer and thus it has served its purpose in that it enabled her to accomplish one of her life goals and helped her improve herself in the process.
