Carol Alt has made the transition from model to actress to successful television host. She is known to the world as a Sports Illustrated cover model who was not only part of the 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Magazine's 50th Anniversary Issue but also recently criticized fellow SI cover girl Kate Upton as being too big to be a model. However, the furor over these comments has subsided and it has not affected the popularity of her Fox television show "A Healthy You & Carol Alt".
In the show she talks about eating with raw foods and the author of several cookbooks has become a food celebrity as a raw food advocate and every Saturday afternoon the show has different celebrities talking about how they eat and also about life in general.
Some entertainment insiders have watched as she has developed into an experienced television host/entertainment personality and some view her decision to comment about popular Sports Illustrated "It" model Kate Upton as a way to test out whether she could handle the criticism that she knew would come from her comments about the model's weight. There is a thought within the television industry that the attractive model turned television host is looking to become more than a television host of a food show and that her comments were an effort to show that she was willing to court 'controversy'.
In the eyes of some entertainment insiders, especially some Fox television executives, she most likely moved up the ranks in terms of being considered for a future role as a television host of a more entertainment focused show because she showed that she was willing to state a controversial view about someone.
Could Carol Alt soon move from food television show host to something more fashion/celebrity related? According to some entertainment insiders, don't discount possibility and considering her controversial comments of Kate Upton that looks to be a path she is seriously considering.
