The Xtra Factor co-host Caroline Flack has spoken out about the war of words between Gary Barlow and Tulisa Contostavlos on The X Factor. Caroline claims that Tulisa was very upset about it and Gary has apologised, also stating that Tulisa can insult him whenever she likes.

Flack said to Heat, “After their ding-dong over the 'fragrance' of each other's breath on the live show, Gary and Tulisa spoke for about two hours in her dressing room, with Nicole acting as mediator.”
She added, “Obviously Tulisa was upset - like anyone would be if someone said you had bad breath on live television. I think Gary meant it as a joke, but he did apologise when he realised how offensive the comment was.”

Caroline continued, “And if someone apologises, I think it's hard not to accept it, but we'll have to see. Gary's now given Tulisa free rein to insult him whenever she wants to, but I doubt she will.”
The X Factor continues on ITV1 this weekend with the live show taking place on Saturday and the results show then airing on Sunday. The Xtra Factor will follow both shows on ITV2.
