When it comes to the tennis season, everybody looks to focus on the grand slam events and, with Summer now here, we are all looking forward to seeing what Wimbledon has to thrown our way this year. Before then though, there are a few tournaments taking place to help get the players ready for the biggest grass court event of the year.
For the top female tennis stars in the game, Eastbourne seems to have become the place of choice to get the right feel for the grass court, ahead of showing their talent at Wimbledon 2016. Some of the biggest names in the game are appearing at Eastbourne, with the likes of Caroline Wozniacki, Agnieszka Radwanska, and Petra Kvitova all looking strong.
All three women are currently in the third round of Eastbourne, with their matches expected to play today, as long as the British weather holds out. Caroline Wozniacki is currently in action and has won the first set of her match against Monica Puig 6-4 and looks a good bet to win in straight sets.
Once that match is over, we will then get to see Agnieszka Radwanska in action, as she takes on Eugenie Bouchard in a very mouth-watering match. Then, following that match, we will get to see Petra Kvitova going up against the home favourite Jo Konta, who will have the majority of the crowd on her side.
It certainly makes for an interesting day of tennis at Eastbourne and we think it will give us a good idea of what to expect when Wimbledon comes around.
