Taylor Swift is considered by many to be the queen of country music, despite the fact that her music has been more pop in recent years. Meanwhile, Carrie Underwood has stuck to her country roots and she has admitted that she is not exactly close to Taylor Swift.

Underwood was talking to the February 2013 edition of Allure, when she explained, “I'm not close to her. We run into each other at events. We're never in the same place at the same time.” Carrie also spoke about her success in the country music charts.
She added, “Nashville is all about females; Country Strong is all about females. It's like there's a hundred spots for men to be able to take, but when it comes to women - and I don't mean to say this in a bragging way at all - but unfortunately I'm the only female this year who spent three weeks at number one on the country charts. Three weeks.”
