The sizzling singer from Muskogee, Oklahoma, may be lighting up the country charts, but her cooking prowess may be fizzling.
Her latest hit single, “Blown Away,” would've been an apt description had her latest kitchen mishap gone any further awry. As the 2004 American Idol winner fanned smoke and tried to quiet the smoke alarm, Underwood Tweeted “Oops! Sorry neighbors . . . #Topchef #KitchenNightmares.”
Underwood did not reveal the dish she was preparing, or trying to prepare, but it is known that she is a Vegan. And, although she admits her culinary skills are somewhat lacking, she has been working hard to improve her cooking. Her ultimate goal is to be as good a cook as her mom, she once said. She raves over her mother’s proficiency in the kitchen.
And her desire to be a good cook is understandable; After all, she is married to an athlete. Her husband, Canadian hockey player Mike Fisher, will undoubtedly need all the nutritious energy he can get. The two have been married since 2010.
So, if you happen to live in the same neighborhood as Carrie Underwood, and you see smoke billowing from her home, not to worry, she isn't burning down the house; she’s probably just destroying a couple of spicy Barbecue chickpea burgers she was preparing for her and hubby Mike.
