Welsh Hollywood star Catherine Zeta-Jones has been talking about her decision to become an actress, admitting that her parents had their doubts about it. Catherine dropped out of school at the age of 15 and headed to London to pursue her dream of becoming a successful actress.
Zeta-Jones was talking to British magazine OK!, when she explained, "Well, I left school at 15 and they were really dubious about that, obviously. A 15-year-old girl going to London to pursue a career in acting. They were back there in Wales thinking about the casting couch and the drugs."
She added, "I had a lot of rules to abide by but I knew that this was what I wanted to do. I couldn't imagine looking back at my life and saying, 'Oh, if only I had the balls and the guts to get up there and do it, maybe my life would be different.'"
Catherine Zeta-Jones has certainly proven herself to her parents and, not only has she managed to have a hugely successful Hollywood career but she has also bagged herself a Hollywood husband. Catherine Zeta-Jones married Michael Douglas in 2000 and the couple have two children together.
