The comic book movie scene is getting bigger and bigger every year but, as everyone else continues to play catch up, it is the Marvel Cinematic Universe that is continuing to lead the way and dominate the genre. We have seen a lot of the biggest and best stars in Hollywood signing multi-movie deals with Marvel, with some of them even trying to get some of their friends and family involved.
Hollywood veteran Michael Douglas joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe to take on the role of Hank Pym in the hit movie Ant-Man, while he will again reprise that role for the planned sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp. Since joining the Marvel family, Michael has been fairly vocal about his involvement and has even gone as far as to suggest that they should considered a loved one for a role.
In the past, Michael Douglas has recommended that Marvel take a look at his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones as a possible new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, insisting that she would make a kick ass superhero. Marvel have clearly not taken his advice about the casting choice but it is fair to say that they are not short of characters they could use her talents for.
When Michael Douglas made his suggestion, there was a lot of talk about Catherine Zeta-Jones playing the role of Janet Van Dyne in the Ant-Man sequel, although that does seem rather unlikely now. We are sure that Catherine would give her all to any comic book movie role she was to be offered but, for now, it looks like Marvel have no intention of casting her in any role any time soon.
Who do you think Catherine Zeta-Jones could play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
