It seems these days that you cannot be a celebrity without having at least one tattoo to brag about. It does not matter whether you are a movie star, a sports star or a singer. It appears that tattoo’s have become very much a symbol of status among the celebrity crowds.

A few of the more notably inked up stars include Los Angeles Galaxy soccer star David Beckham, wrestler turned actor Dwayne Johnson, singer Christina Perri, Hollywood actress Sara Paxton and Fall Out Boy star Pete Wentz. All who seem intent on covering their skin in ink.

David Beckham’s tattoo’s cover both of his arms and he has since moved on to covering his torso. He most recently got a tattoo of his daughter Harper Seven Beckham’s name tattooed above his heart. The England international has no intentions of stopping there and has confirmed that he plans for many more.

Dwayne Johnson is another who has covered both of his arms and the majority of his torso in tattoo’s, while Shark Night 3D actress Sara Paxton seems to have taken the inking a little less extreme with some tactically positioned tattoo’s, which do not take over her body.

Christina Perri’s hair is usually the discussion point amongst fans, and right so, she has fantastic hair. However, Christina Perri’s tattoo’s are slowly beginning to take over her hair as the main talking point. The sexy singer has a variety of tattoo’s on her body including one across her chest, which reads “La mia famiglia”.

As for Pete Wentz, well he seems to have been covered in tattoo’s since forever and he continues to add more all the time. Why celebrities feel the need to cover themselves in tattoo’s is beyond us and it seems wrong that these role models seem to promote the inking of skin to the youngsters who look up to them. However, it is their prerogative and hopefully when they hit old age, they still look at their wrinkled tattoo’s with pride.
