Chace Crawford recently had a profile on the Mr. Porter Journal website, and in the article, Crawford is tipped to be under ‘serious consideration’ to play the lead role of Christian Grey in the upcoming ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ film adaptation.

In the interview Crawford first talks about becoming an actor, which he says was mostly a chance occurrence - "I'd done a little bit of modelling, and hated it," he says, "but then I met these agents who told me how much money I could make being in commercials and I was like, OK."
When asked where he sees himself in the next few years, Crawford says, “Working. I just want to be working," he says, when I ask him where he sees himself in the next couple of years, although he then almost instantly follows it up with: "I want to do something really shocking. I know I'm capable of it. The right thing just has to come up."

The article points to the consideration that Crawford seems to be one of the frontrunners for the role of the ‘sadistic businessman’ Christian Grey in the film version of the bestselling novel – it also compares whoever gets the role to have the kind of career defining moment that Christian Bale had with ‘American Psycho’. Of course, Mr. Crawford says, “I'm a huge fan of that movie actually.”
