David Fincher will direct the movie
Now, it has been confirmed that David Fincher's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea has ultimately been greenlit but that Brad Pitt has decided to pass on the project. This has meant that David, and the rest of the casting team, will now have to go in search of a new leading man for the movie.
With that said, it seems that they already have their ideal man lined up, as they will be trying to get Channing Tatum to sign on, to replace Brad Pitt in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. However, Channing is just about to become a father and has admitted that he would like to spend some time with his family before getting back into work.

Brad Pitt passed on the movie
This leaves David Fincher with a bit of a headache, as Channing Tatum seems to be the man that he wants. While David couod just cast someone else and get production underway, there is also the possibility that he could hold off shooting 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea until next year. Watch this space.
