Channing Tatum's career has certainly been busy the last couple of years. After a phenomenal 2012, where he starred in three $100 million movies [The Vow, 21 Jump Street, and Magic Mike], he has 5 movies set for 2013 and another 3 films in development/pre-production. We've already seen Side Effects, and then we'll be seeing G.I. Joe: Retaliation next week, and the rest will come out within this year and the next. However, don't expect this momentum to continue - Channing has revealed that his wife, Jenna Dewan, is due pretty soon and he'll be taking a break once the baby comes.
According to the Global Dispatch, Tatum explained, "Fatherhood will be the biggest role of my life. I just hope I don’t screw that one up. I even hope to slow down a bit, once a new little person comes into this world.”
Of course, he also promotes his latest film, 'GI Joe: Retaliation', in the interview, saying, "It’s wildly different from the first movie. It won’t go the whole CGI, cartoonish route. It’s more based in reality. I love these movies because they have spectacular action sequences."
G.I. Joe: Retaliation drops at the end of this week, but the first true test of Channing Tatun's box office appeal in a major blockbuster will be in this summer's 'White House Down', which co-stars Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jamie Foxx.
