Channing Tatum will be following in the footsteps of Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and other A-list movie stars – by appearing on the cover of People Magazine’s annual Sexiest Man Alive cover issue. It’s been a fantastic year for Tatum, after he led three movies to box office success. ‘The Vow’, released in January and co-starring Rachel McAdams, became a huge romantic break-out hit in the vein of the ‘Notebook’, and far exceeded expectations. Then, ’21 Jump Street’ in March also broke records for a comedy opening and went on to make upwards of a $100 million dollars in the US alone, in addition to receiving extremely strong critic reviews. Of course, ‘Magic Mike’ went on to top off an already terrific year – made on a reported $7 million budget, the movie went on to make more than $150 million worldwide, with over $100 million of that in domestic box office sales.
With three $100 million movies just months apart, Tatum quickly established himself as the next movie star in the making. He received a reported $10 million payday to star in the upcoming Roland Emmerich directed ‘White House Down’, about a take-over of the White House, with Tatum playing a secret service agent. He’s also set to headline the Wachowski’s next movie, which is also reported to co-star Mila Kunis.
Now, just in time for the unveiling of People Magazine’s prestigious Sexiest Man Alive honor, Gossip Cop is reporting Tatum will be crowned with the title on November 14th, when the issue comes out. Last year, the title went to Bradley Cooper and the year before that, it went to Ryan Reynolds.
