We usually don’t get confirmations on the next season of cable television shows until the previous season is underway and is doing well enough to justify another batch of episodes. However, it seems HBO doesn’t have any worries about their hit show ‘Game of Thrones’, as it seems they have already confirmed the fourth season despite the third season not having premiered yet.

The cast of Game of Thrones has been busy promoting the Season 2 DVD release as well as the premiere of the third season [March 3st]. Charles Dance, who plays Tywin Lannister, has admitted that there have already been scripts written for the fourth season and he will be filming his parts later this year.
At a panel for the show, he said, “We’re about to start season four aren’t we? This year. We get scripts pretty early on, much earlier on than in similar series, usually you get perhaps one episode and you just have to trust that what’s going to come in subsequent episodes is going to be as good as the one you’ve got, but in this I think there are six scripts already written, and we will probably be able to see them with more than adequate time to prepare before we start shooting.”

It was reported that as soon as the mention of season 4 came out of Dance’s mouth, the panel moderator went into a panic and started rapping on the table to stop him from saying more. It seemed as if he either didn’t notice or didn’t heed their warnings, as he pretty much confirmed that HBO had already greenlit Season. Of course, that didn’t stop the studio’s publicist from announcing later that season 4 had not ‘officially’ been greenlit. Well, we know what this means: celebration that at least two more seasons of our favorite fantasy television show are definitely coming back.
