There are certain characters who just seem to keep coming back to the big screen on a regular occasion, with different movie makers all wanting to put their own spin on the story and show what they can do with such an iconic character. One such character is none other than the legendary King Arthur, who will once again hit the big screen in a few months times.
This time around, British movie maker Guy Ritchie has taken on the task of bringing the character to life, while British actor Charlie Hunnam will take on the role of King Arthur. Now, Charlie has opened up about playing the character, revealing just how he won the lead role in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and it sounds like a rather unusual way to win a role.
Hunnam explained, "I said, ‘You know what? Fucking stop the camera. I’m starting to lose my temper. I know those other pricks you’ve got reading for this role (believed to be the Michael Fassbender and Henry Cavill). If you bring them in right now, I’ll fucking fight them both at once for the role, and we’ll see what’s up with the physicality.’ Guy said, ‘Fucking hell, alright – calm down, mate.’"
As well as starring Charlie Hunnam, the rest of the cast of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword includes Aidan Gillen, Annabelle Wallis, Katie McGrath, Jude Law, Eric Bana, and Djimon Hounsou, among others. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is set to hit the big screen on March 24, 2017 in both the US and the UK.
