Despite being one of the most successful managers in the game, it seems that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is still not fully aware of the rules of football, especially when it comes to an injured player during a match. This was evident at the weekend, when Jose criticised his medical team for going on to treat Eden Hazard after the player went down and the ref called them on.
Mourinho said after the match, "I was unhappy with my medical staff. They were impulsive and naive. Whether you are a kit man, doctor or secretary on the bench you have to understand the game." First off, if Eden Hazard was not injured, then why did he go down and stay down? Secondly, when the medical team is called on by the ref, they have no choice but to go on.
Following the very unprofessional comments by Jose Mourinho, the Chelsea club doctor Eva Carneiro took to her official Twitter account to thank people for supporting her in her decision, "I would like to thank the general public for their overwhelming support. Really very much appreciated," she tweeted. However, this has not exactly helped her cause.
It has now been reported that Eva Carneiro has been banned from sitting on the Chelsea bench during matches, although she will still be allowed to work with the players during training. It is a very harsh and unfair decision by the club and Jose Mourinho really does need to take a look in the mirror and realise that he has made a mistake.
Do you think Chelsea were right to ban Eva Carneiro?
