It has been reported that Chelsea are hoping to beat Italian club Inter Milan to the signing of Manchester United’s French midfielder Paul Pogba, by planning a deadline day raid for the 18 year old. Andre Villas-Boas sent two scouts to watch Paul Pogba in action earlier this week and it is believed that Chelsea are set to test Manchester United’s resolve with a £3m bid.
Paul Pogba is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of this season, when he will be able to move with a tribunal setting the relevant transfer fee. However, it seems that Chelsea do not want to take their chances and risk losing out on the player, so will offer Manchester United £3m for Paul Pogba on transfer deadline day, at the end of this month.
Sir Alex Ferguson has become increasingly frustrated with Paul Pogba and his representation for their refusal to sign a new contract, as it has forced Ferguson to leave Pogba out of his side, despite the clubs ongoing injury problems in midfield. With news of an impending Chelsea bid, Manchester United could find themselves with a bidding war on their hands.
