Girls Aloud are set to reunite for a brand new tour after spending time attempting solo careers since the band split. Now, Cheryl Cole has revealed how she believes that the band initially split because of Nadine Coyle. Cheryl claims in her new book, that Nadine brought her solo manager on tour with Girls Aloud, which was crossing the line.
Cole explained, “She’d been living in the States for several years by now and was forever travelling back and forth. I felt we were lucky she was prepared to split herself in two. This was different, though. Having her manager actually on tour with us was crossing the line, and that’s when I knew that it was finally time for us to take a break.”
However, this was not the first time that Nadine had showed a little discontent at being a part of Girls Aloud. According to Cheryl, Nadine decided not to attend the Brit Awards ceremony the year that Girls Aloud had actually been nominated for an award.
Cheryl added, “I think we all expected her to come up with some sort of excuse, but she just admitted, ‘It’s not really my thing’. I can remember a sort of stunned silence, like we'd all be slapped in the face. But I was so cut up about my marriage (to footballer Ashley Cole) this didn’t really make the impact it probably should have.”
