It seems that, despite claims that they are friends again, Cheryl Cole cannot help having a few digs at Simon Cowell and she is at it yet again. Simon was hoping that Girls Aloud would reunite with a performance on The X Factor but on the day of his 53rd birthday the girls chose to perform on rival show Strictly Come Dancing.

An insider explained, “Simon was hoping for a happy birthday but all he got was bad news. It's an amazing slap in the face for Simon and proves the Cheryl really wants Strictly Come Dancing to beat her old show.”
Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell fell out when Simon decided to sack Cheryl from the hit ITV reality singing competition The X Factor USA, amid claims that the American audience could not understand her. Cheryl seemed to hold a grudge for some time but the two did appear to have buried the hatchet and made friends again.

However, this new blow is bound to cause some new friction between the two and comes as yet another negative for The X Factor, which has been constantly criticised this year and has been experiencing some rather average ratings.
Girls Aloud have decided to reunite to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the girls being made on reality television show Popstars: The Rivals. Speaking of Popstars: The Rivals, whatever happened to One True Voice, OTV, whatever they ended up being called?
