Cheryl Cole became a household name across the world with her music and her connection to footballer Ashley Cole, but it was X-Factor that launched her career in reality television. After a few years of successful appearances on The X-Factor, she was surprisingly ousted from the show in 2011 by boss Simon Cowell.
Alas, it's now 2013 and it seems that she's being courted to return to the show. Apparently, Simon is very 'keen' on getting Cheryl back, with a source explaining, "Simon’s treated Cheryl terribly in the past but he needs her back to save the show – and he’s shrewd enough to know that money talks."
This source also adds, "He also knows that Cheryl is under new management and returning to the show that turned her in to the nation’s sweetheart would be a career masterstroke for her and that she wouldn’t see it as selling out.”
Although Cheryl and Simon may have some friction between them when Cheryl was initially taken off the X-Factor in 2011, it seems that they have made up. Cheryl has already performed on the show again, and has actually been spotted being generally cordial with Simon at public events. However, it will all depend on Cheryl - whether she wants to pursue a career outside of the X-Factor, or whether she wants to return.
