The rumours that there would be a Kick-Ass 2 movie came straight off of the back of the success of Kick-Ass. At first it seemed that there could be problems with a Kick-Ass 2 and people involved began denying that it would happen. However, it was eventually confirmed and much of the cast from the first movie agreed to return.

One such cast member is Chloe Moretz, who is set to return to the role of Hit Girl, in which she was so impressive in the first Kick-Ass movie. Chloe has now revealed that Kick-Ass 2 does not go back to how Hit Girl was but instead shows how she has grown as a person.
Moretz told SuperHeroHype, “I'm not going back in time. Which is good. I'm growing up with this, so it's just an older sophisticated version of Hit Girl and we don't take away who she was but you see Mindy more in this movie and you see her struggle with who she is and try to figure out what she likes, if she likes this, if she likes that, who is she?”

It seems that it has been a very busy few months for Chloe, as she has not had much time off between movies recently, going straight from filming one to the next. She admitted that there is a distinct difference between the characters that she has been playing but loves the diversity.
Moretz added, “It was really funny because I only had a weekend off in between Carrie and Kick-Ass so I went from wearing blood every day of my life for the last three weeks of shooting Carrie, to starting Kick-Ass. The first thing I shot was me in full Hit-Girl mode, knives, guns… it was so anti-climactic to go from being this really heartbroken character to be this strong, powerful woman.”
Kick-Ass 2 also stars Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Jim Carrey, John Leguizamo, Donald Faison, Robert Emms, Yancy Butler and Morris Chestnut and is set to be released in the US on June 28, 2013 and then in the UK on July 19, 2013.
