There have been a number of Young Adult novels being adapted for the big screen over the past few years with varied results. The most recent to hit the big screen is the Veronica Roth novel Divergent, which stars Shailene Woodley and is out now. The next Young Adult novel that we will see hitting the big screen is Rick Yancey novel The 5th Wave, which is in the process of casting the movie.
There has been plenty of interest in The 5th Wave and while a few names have been rumoured for the lead role, it looks like Chloe Moretz is the favourite to land the role. Chloe is currently in talks for The 5th Wave and it is expected that she will be confirmed sooner rather than later. The 5th Wave will be directed by J Blakeson, based on the screenplay that has been developed by Sussanah Grant.
If you are not familiar with the story The 5th Wave and do not really know what it is about, it has been described as centering around "Cassie Sullivan, who survives four waves of deadly attacks against the Earth's population. On the run to save her younger brother, 16-year-old Cassie meets a mysterious young man who may become her final hope." Chloe Moretz is in talks to play the role of Cassie in the film.
Elsewhere in her acting career, Chloe Moretz has a number of projects coming up. She will star with Kristen Stewart in Clouds of Sils Maria. Then there is the movie If I Stay, with Mireille Enos. Following that we have Dark Places, with Christina Hendricks. Chloe will also star with Denzel Washington in The Equalizer, while she is also linked to a role in November Criminals.
Chloe Moretz is clearly a very busy actress at the moment and long may it continue.
