Actress Chloe Moretz on Thursday June 26 was awarded the Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor at the 40th Annual awards ceremony in California which for many entertainment insiders is another acknowledgement of the prodigious acting talent that she is and helps explain why she is so loved by Hollywood filmmakers.
She played the lead role in the movie "Carrie", a remake of the 1976 horror film and she was so convincing in the 2013 adaptation of Stephen King's legendary novel that it was her name that was announced as the winning performance.
The young actress has become renowned for her ability to play 'dark', conflicted characters in films and she proved in this film that she enjoys the challenge of these characters which make her 'stretch' as an actress and feel things that she has never felt before in her life because her characters are nothing like her. She admits that she comes from a great family and her mother is exceptionally supportive so her playing a role such as "Carrie" really helps bring out the creative juices in her acting.
She admits to not having read the book until she actually had won the part but after that she read the book thoroughly and each day on set in every scene she compared the scene in the book with the scene in the script and as some entertainment insiders will attest it helped her put forth an outstanding acting performance.
Not only did she perform exceptionally well on screen but at the Saturn Awards she also looked outstanding in receiving her award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor. She looked ecstatic in receiving the gong award while wearing a detailed tapestry style dress with black stilettos and her hair in a loose side braid.
Chloe Moretz was a winner at the 40th Saturn Awards both for her performance on the screen in the movie "Carrie" and for her fashion style in accepting her well-earned Saturn award for "The Best Performance by a Younger Actor.
