Chris Evans has a new interview in W Magazine, and in the interview, he opens up about his early interest in acting as well as why he considers himself a control freak.
He explains that his mother runs a youth theater and adds, "We were like the von Trapps, all singing and dancing. I still sing everywhere—in the shower, in the car, before I got on the phone with you.” However, his career has involved very little music and not even one musical. He does joke that if was to direct, it would be a musical. However, before he gets to that, he mentions that he is too much a control freak to ever direct. He says, "I’m a bit of a control freak,” he confessed. “And it’s easier to be a control freak on a smaller project. If I were a director, I would never hire me. I want to know about everything—from the music to the camera angle.”
Then, he jokes that he would direct a musical, saying, "I was at the Oscars with my mother, and she was out of her mind with excitement. During the dance numbers she whispered to me, ‘You should be up there dancing.’ It was good to remember how cool this stuff can be and why I wanted to be here in the first place.”
Evans most recently appeared in Iceman, and will next be seen in the dystopian film 'Snowpiercer'. He will also be seen in 'A Many Splintered Thing' later this year, the Captain America sequel in 2014, and of course, the Avengers sequel in 2015.
