Chris Evans revealed last year how he went through quite a tough time dealing with the whole experience of playing Captain America and he is set to portray the character again for The Avengers in May. However, Chris has revealed that he feels much less pressure on his shoulder this time around, as there are many other stars there to share the expectation.
Evans explained, “It’s a lot easier now. Now that we’ve gotten past that first wave of Captain America and the press and all that madness and now we’re into The Avengers, where I get to share some of the work load, it’s become a lot easier.” Chris then discussed the cameo appearance from legendary comic book writer Stan Lee.
He added, He’s fantastic. He did a cameo on the Fantastic Four films, so I’ve met him a few times, and he was just amazing. He’s a living legend. He’s got so much energy and so much personality and he’s so positive, always smiling and always cracking jokes. He really is one amazing human being.”
Chris Evans then went on to discuss how he went about Captain America leading the other heroes. Chris continued, “There are a lot of growing pains that The Avengers have to work out in the first film but I’m not going to get too into detail because Marvel will kill me. So you’ll just have to wait and see the film in March ... May? ... May!” So it seems that we could be getting a sequel to The Avengers and just to clear up any confusion, The Avengers hits the big screen on May 4, 2012.
