There have been quite a lot of Australian stars making it big in Hollywood over the past few years or so, with most of them starting out their careers in an Australian soap such as Neighbours or Home and Away. One of the biggest Australian stars in Hollywood these days would have to be Chris Hemsworth, who has enjoyed a great rise to stardom.
While Chris Hemsworth did have one brief appearance in Neighbours, it was in the role of Kim Hyde in Home and Away where Chris really made his big break. Chris appeared in 184 episodes of Home and Away, between 2004 and 2007, before heading to the US to try and make a name for himself in Hollywood.
In 2009, Chris Hemsworth had a brief appearance in the Star Trek reboot, where he played the role of George Kirk, Captain Kirk's dad, reprising the role for the sequel in 2013. However, it was landing the role of the Marvel superhero Thor which really gave Chris Hemsworth his big break, propelling him into Hollywood superstardom.
Chris Hemsworth is now considered one of the biggest Hollywood stars on the planet, as well as being one of the most sought after actors in the business. These days, Chris can demand millions of dollars for movie roles, as well as having the luxury of being able to turn roles down. He truly is a Hollywood hunk.
