There have been so many different rumours surrounding the DCEU, especially when it comes to the casting rumours and even more so when it comes to the actor Chris Pine, who has been linked to a number of different roles for DC. Chris has been in talks with Warner Bros. about appearing in a particular movie but, until now, it has not been clearly exactly which character he will be playing.
It was first rumoured that Chris Pine was in talks to play the role of Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman movie, before it was then claimed that this was just a smokescreen and that we were actually going to see the actor starring as Hal Jordan aka Green Lantern. Well now, if the latest rumours are to be believed, the whole confusion of who Chris Pine will play in the DCEU has been cleared up.
It has been reported that Chris Pine has now signed on to play the role of Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman film, putting an end to the Green Lantern rumours. It is claimed that Chris will be more that just a love interest for Gal Gadot in the film, as he has signed on to a multi picture deal and is set to see Steve Trevor going on to play a very important role in the DCEU.
If this is the case and we are going to see Chris Pine as Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman, then that means we are going to get some new rumours about the Green Lantern film. Could we actually see Tyrese Gibson playing John Stewart in Green Lantern Corps, or is there going to be a different actor cast in the movie? We guess we will just have to wait and see.
The Wonder Woman movie will be directed by Patty Jenkins, based on the script being developed by Jason Fuchs, with a planned release date of June 23, 2017.
