There is often a bit of a pattern in Hollywood, where people get drawn to similar roles in many of their movies, which leads to them becoming typecast and only ever playing the same roles all the time. This seems to have become the case for American actor Chris Pine, who regularly finds himself playing the action hero on the big screen.
Back in 2009, Chris Pine took on the role of Captain Kirk in the Star Trek reboot, a role made famous by William Shatner. Now, Chris can be seen on the big screen as Jack Ryan, a role that has been played in the past by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck in the past.
While promoting his latest movie Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Chris spoke about playing similar roles all the time, "I get tired of myself talking about how reluctant I am to take on roles like this. It must sound like, ‘Boo-hoo, poor actor’. But sometimes this all feels like some kind of bizarre cosmic accident," Pine explained.
As well as starring Chris Pine, the Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit cast also includes the likes of Kevin Costner, Keira Knightley and Kenneth Branagh, who also directed the movie. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is out now in both the US and the UK.
