When it was first announced that there was going to be a new Jurassic Park movie, which would be titled Jurassic World, there were a number of people who were unsure why it was even getting made and what the need was for it. However, once things began moving forward and the cast started coming together, the doubters were slowly being won over.
Then, when the movie was finally released, there were a lot of very impressed people, with Jurassic World managing to win over the fans and critics alike, showing that the movie was made with good reason. As well as being a success with the fans and critics, Jurassic World was also a financial success, managing to gross an incredible $1.67bn worldwide.
That success pretty much gave the green light for a Jurassic World sequel and it was soon announced that Jurassic World 2 would get made. With Chris Pratt becoming one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood, it was going to be a case of finding some free time in his schedule to start shooting the movie and now it looks like that gap has appeared.
It has been claimed that Chris Pratt and co. will begin shooting Jurassic World 2 in the New Year, with February being the expected date. While Colin Trevorrow did a fantastic job on the first Jurassic World movie, he has stepped down and let J.A. Bayona take the reigns for the sequel. Jurassic World 2 is set to hit the big screen on June 8, 2018 in the UK and June 22, 2018 in the US.
