Over the years in Hollywood we have seen a lot of stars bulking up to take on big roles in some big movies and Hollywood actor Chris Pratt is the latest to get himself big for a huge role. Chris has got himself into impress physical shape for his role as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord in the upcoming Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy.
We have seen Chris Pratt go from the chubby supporting actor to the big leading man over the past few years and he has opened up about his recent success in Hollywood. Chris says that he never used to worry about his appearance going into auditions and says he was happy just being that chubby supporting actor.
Pratt was talking to IGN, when he said, "I think I was a little naive when I first started acting, maybe ten years ago, and didn't quite realise the impact the way you look has on the people who are making casting decisions. I thought for a while I was going to find a career playing the fat friend, and that was totally fine - it keeps you from waiting tables."
Fortunately though, Chris Pratt landed a role in the Kathryn Bigelow movie Zero Dark Thirty, which made him realise that he had the potential to become so much more in Hollywood. Now, Chris has become one of the most sought after actors in the business and he puts it all down to that movie.
Bigelow added, "Doing Zero Dark Thirty opened my eyes to the idea that I could be taken more seriously as a leading man character and so I thought I'd try that. Who knows, maybe this will be the last movie I'll be in shape for and then I'll get fat again. My wife would appreciate it. She likes me fat."
Guardians of the Galaxy will open on July 31 in the UK and August 1 in the US.
