Christian Bale has confirmed his belief that his latest role playing vigilante Batman in the 'The Dark Knight Rises' will be the last time he dons the black cape. Bale has always maintained that the final in the trilogy of the Christopher Nolan 'Batman' films would be his last as well but anticipation for the movie has led to many Batman fans hoping the 37 year-old would continue the role.
Speaking to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Bale said "I wrapped a few days ago so that will be the last time I'm taking that cowl off. I believe that the whole production wrapped yesterday, so it's all done. Everything's finished. It's me and Chris - that will be the end of that Batman era."
However, the star did admit that he has enjoyed playing the role of billionaire Bruce Wayne and his after-dark superhero alter-ego Batman: "We always maintained from the beginning that if you wanted to break it down, there are three personas - Batman is sincere, the private Bruce Wayne is sincere. The public version of Bruce Wayne, the playboy, is a completely fabricated performance."
Fans have recently been offered a few juicy teasers about the plot in 'The Dark Knight Rises' by Christopher Nolan himself.
