Quite often, when a British actor or actress heads to the US in a bid to boost their career and become a Hollywood movie star, it backfires and they end up back on a British soap. However, there are also those who make it on the big screen and become huge stars.
Marvel and DC have been competing with each other with their movie projects but it seems that they both have a similar idea. Hire a British actor to play the role of the superhero. And that is exactly what both of the comic book studios have been doing.
The Christopher Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy has been highly praised by many and he turned to British actor Christian Bale to play Batman in his movies. Then there is Andrew Garfield, who was cast in the role of Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man movies.
Now, later this year, we will get to cast our eyes on British star Henry Cavill as Superman in the Zack Snyder movie Man of Steel. Maybe other filmmakers should follow this pattern and maybe we would get some better superhero movies.
With that said, the Justice League movie is yet to cast the lead roles, so maybe we could see even more British actors taking over the superhero movie world.
