A lot of people were disappointed to learn that Christina Aguilera had decided to leave the reality singing competition The Voice, as she looks to focus on her music. There were a lot of people linked to the spare chair on the coaching line up but, in the end, the job went to Shakira.
Now, with the new season of The Voice set to air tonight, Christina Aguilera has given her support to her replacement on the show, Shakira. Christina attended The Voice premiere in Los Angeles, admitting that she still felt like part of The Voice family, while wishing Shakira all the best.
Aguilera was chatting to the goes at Extra, when she told them, "I'm here because it's a family environment, and I'm here in support of any woman who is willing to take on these boys. It's a lot of testosterone, but I know [new coach] Shakira will handle it."
As well as Christina Aguilera leaving the show, Cee Lo Green also decided to take a break from The Voice, as he too wished to get back to his own music. Cee Lo has since been replaced by Usher, who joins up with new coach Shakira, as well as the returning Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.
The new season of The Voice will premiere on NBC tonight (Monday, March 25).
