It was revealed earlier this month that singer and The Voice coach Christina Aguilera would be taking a break from the reality singing competition, to focus on her own music career. Christina claims that she needs to be out touring herself, to help improve her ability as a coach for up and coming singers.
Aguilera explained to E! Online, "In order to be the best coach I can be on that show [it's a good idea] to go out and be able to have the experience as an artist. Create new experiences for myself so that I can then come back to the show and share that much more."

She added, “[The Voice's executive producer Mark Burnett] understands that we're artists first. In order to remain great coaches and to stay relevant, we have to go out and we have to still tour, see our fans one-on-one. I have to feel creatively fulfilled in order for me to then do my job as a coach and be on that show.”
As well as Christina Aguilera leaving The Voice, the show is also set to lose fellow coach Cee Lo Green, who has also opted to take a break. It has since been confirmed that Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green will be replaced as coaches on The Voice by Usher and Shakira.
