Actress Christina Hendricks was interviewed about receiving her 5th Emmy award nomination in six years of shooting the series "Mad Men" and she disclosed that the nomination caught her off guard in what was already an emotional week for her.
The actress was receiving phone calls to congratulate her for receiving an Emmy nomination as the Best Supporting Actress but when her phone rang at 5:45 am she attributed them to being telemarketers and thus did not pick up the phone. It took her several phone calls to eventually answer the phone and once she did find out she called her parents and returned to sleep for some more rest before she actually allowed herself to get up.
She admitted that she was very surprised to receive an Emmy nomination this season as there have been only seven episodes and she never truly expected it at all.
The past week for her has been very emotional as she is starting to accept that the show "Mad Men" is now finished as they recently finished shooting the final episodes. The Emmys for her and the crew in the past have been almost like a meeting ground for the cast and crew as they have always looked at the awards as something they do before they go back to work but this time it will be "more like a reunion".
Christina Hendricks showed a little bit of why she is so adored and loved by her colleagues when she expressed a desire that more of her acting colleagues had been nominated for individual awards for their exceptional performances in particular Elisabeth Moss.
She is a team player who while admitting that she is already missing her colleagues did not disclose anything about how the show ends. Beautiful, mysterious and strong, that is Christina Hendricks who will soon be walking the red carpet as an Emmy award nominee.
