The entertainment industry has seen some drastic changes over the years, with a lot of those changes being effected by the advancement of technology. Cindy Crawford was once considered one of the biggest models on the face of the Earth and she has admitted that things are completely different for models these days, thanks to the likes of social media.
Crawford told The Evening Standard Newspaper, "These girls, because of social media, are able to craft their own image in a way we weren't. These girls, even as they're just beginning, they're not as pigeon-holed by how other people see them. Someone like Cara, the reason she is so cool is she gets to be who she is on social media and have that direct relationship with fans."
As well as claiming that the modelling industry is easier to crack for people these days, with it being easier for the models to have a relationship with their fans, Cindy Crawford also had a few words of advice for any aspiring models. Cindy insists that, despite the industry being different to her day, you still have to work really hard if you want to make it to the top.
Crawford added, "I always say modelling is what I do, it's not who I am. It's a job, and it's a really fun and great job, but to treat it like you would any job My advice is be on time, be prepared, listen. For me, that's so much of the reason that I've had such a long career. People knew I was going to show up and give 100 per cent. It's not glamorous, but that quality, in a fickle industry, was essential."
Meanwhile, Cindy Crawford is making sure that she guides the career of her 13-year-old daughter Kaia carefully, with the young model following in her mothers footsteps, preparing to appear in the next issue of Teen Vogue.
